Applications invited for CME/CPD recognition

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has asked all medical and health institutions, organisations, associations and professional bodies to apply for recognition as the continuous medical education and continuing professional development certificate awarding institutions.
According to the PMDC, the regulator for medical and dental education and practice in the country, any institution, organisation, association or professional body could apply for the grant of recognition for CME/CPD on the prescribed perfomra.
“Every institution, organisation, association or professional body, which wishes to secure the CME/CPD certificates, should apply with the PMDC through the federal government in line with the PMDC Amendment Act 2012,” it said. The PMDC said the application fee for the purpose was Rs50,000 (non-refundable) for five years period, while the inspection expense would be applicable as and when required.
