The efforts to clean Karachi are gaining pace. However, there are a few areas that need immediate attention. In North Nazimabad, there is a busy food street called Zaweela Street. Open-air restaurants and ice cream shops are just a few feet away from a pile of waste emitting a foul odor. Similarly, North Nazimabad Block D residents have named a street ‘Gandi Galli’ (Garbage Lane).
Although the recent steps taken towards the cleanliness of the city are highly appreciated, the authorities should take steps to clean the abovementioned areas at the earliest. The citizens of the city wish to see the whole city clean.
