Woman immolates self

A 30-year-old woman committed suicide by setting herself ablaze in her house at Hanjarwal on Saturday morning.

According to an investigation officer, the woman, Shazia, got depressed after having an exchange of harsh words with her husband over a domestic issue. She locked herself up in a room, doused herself in petrol and set herself ablaze.

murdered: A 22-year-old youth, yet to be identified, was found slaughtered by unidentified persons in the Racecourse area on Saturday.

Passersby spotted his body lying near China Chowk and informed police. Police said there were multiple marks of torture on the body.

arrested: FIA arrested a fugitive at Liberty Market involved in illegal business of counterfeit products of a famous textile brand.The arrested person, identified as Noor Rehman, was wanted in FIRs, 29 and 30/2016.

Meanwhile, Iqbal Town Investigation police arrested four persons who had allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old boy four days back. The arrested accused, identified as Aamar Yasar, Jaffar Ali, Shahid and Ashi, wife of Shahid, had kidnapped a boy, Zakir Ali.
