Stampede at hospital leaves 2 women injured
CHARSADDA: Two women sustained injuries when a panic was created after firing at the District Headquarters Hospital here Thursday, sources said. They said there were sudden gunshots on the premises of the facility, which caused panic among the patients and their attendants.It was learnt that the hospital officials were checking a gun when it went off.
It was said that the medical superintendent of the hospital had issued the directives to check the gun at a crowded point. Patients Atif Jan, Masood Khan and Jan Muhammad said that a suspected person had been arrested from the hospital a day earlier. They said that the patients assumed that militants had attacked the hospital and they tried to flee the facility which caused a stamped-like situation.
Cops at the City Police Station said that there was a shooting range in the Police Lines Charsadda to check guns.Meanwhile, the medical superintendent refused to comment on the development.
