Central Jail Superintendent gets imprisonment

FAISALABAD: Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Abid on Wednesday awarded 20-day rigorous imprisonment and Rs 2,000 fine to Central Jail Superintendent Saqib Nazir on the charge of misbehaving with Civil Judge Amir Raza during hearing of a case at the Central Jail.
The superintendent was immediately arrested under the orders of the judicial magistrate and sent behind the bars.
Arrest warrants for 24 cops issued

FAISALABAD: A local court on Wednesday issued warrants for the arrest of 24 policemen for not appearing in the court to record their statements in various cases.
The court directed the CPO to implement the orders and present the police officials in the court. They included Dijkot police ASI Aqdas Abbas, Mansoorabad police ASI Muhammad Aslam, Nishatabad police ASI Abdur Rehman, Muhammad Tariq, Abdur Rehman, Nasir Abbas, Muhammad Nasim, Zulfiqar Ahmad, Tariq Ali and Wali Muhammad.
Couple shot dead over enmity

FAISALABAD: A couple was shot dead over enmity at Karim Nagar on Wednesday.
Sajid Ali and his wife Irshad Bibi were on their way when four accused shot them dead over enmity and fled. Sadar police have registered a murder case.
2 more dengue patients admitted to Allied Hospital

FAISALABAD: Two more patients of dengue fever have been admitted to the Allied Hospital here.
The dengue patients were admitted to the hospital after their medical tests. Earlier, nearly 12 patients were admitted to the hospital and were later discharged after treatment.
SHO, 6 other cops booked for torturing lawyer

FAISALABAD: On the order of Additional Sessions Judge Rana Muhammad Saeed, police on Wednesday booked Thikriwala police SHO Nasir Nawaz and six other cops for allegedly torturing a lawyer.
Faisal Ahmad advocate had filed a petition in the court stating that the accused SHO and other cops allegedly lifted him from his house and allegedly tortured him after tying him with ropes.
