Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaquat Balouch has stressed the need to get education sector out of the clutches of class based system.
Addressing at first day of two-day talent exhibition organised at the Karachi Expo by Islami Jamiat Talaba, (IJT), on Tuesday, he said that future belongs to youngsters so restoration of students union is mandatory to flourish democratic norms in the society.
He urged those in the corridors of power to free education from the tensions of economic classes to secure the future of Pakistan. The JI leader said that the syllabus should be reviewed on national level.
He added that the outdated curriculum doesn't fulfill the national needs. He said that Pakistani students are less than none in regard to capabilities and abilities. He was of the view that Urdu should be the only medium for education.
He congratulated IJT's local chapter for holding the expo for the fourth consecutive year. He said that students posses a significant position in the society. Liaquat Balouch further said that rapidly increase of female students in professional educational institutes is a matter of great joy and satisfaction as, according to him, it would be helpful to bring a peaceful Islamic revolution in the country.
Meanwhile, Nasir Hussain Shah, provincial transport minister, stressed the need of joint efforts for bringing betterment in the education sector. He also assured the students for his all out support in regard to the betterment of education sector.
The Vice Chancellor, Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, Dr Faizullah Abbasi, hailed the efforts of IJT and praised the culture of the organisation where students from all ethnic backgrounds are engaged for a joint cause in an exemplary harmony.
The JI Karachi chief Engineer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has urged the government to eliminate corruption from education department. He highlighted several anomalies and said that the issues, pertaining to education should be resolved on war footing basis.
