Khugakhel tribesmen protest against political admin official
LANDIKOTAL: The elders of Khugakhel tribe on Monday set up a hunger strike camp in Landikotal bazaar against the alleged interference of the local administration in their private matters.
The camp was set up at the Bacha Khan Chowk in Landikotal bazaar. A number of local elders, political party leaders and Khugakhel tribesmen joined the protest.Talking to reporters, Shah Muhammad, Abdul Raziq and Israr Shinwari said that Landikotal tehsildar was interfering in their private matters.
Shah Muhammad said they had signed a contract with a person to run the Torkham taxi stand for one year. He said the Khugakhel tribespeople were the owners of the taxi stand, but the political tehsildar of Landikotal was supporting the contractor and was trying to impose his own terms and conditions on them.
Shah Muhammad said it was up to Khugakhel tribespeople to decide as to whom they leased out the taxi stand.He asked the high-ups to take notice of the alleged involvement of the Landikotal tehsildar in their matters.
