Chinese investors to set up industrial zone in Punjab

Shahbaz says all possible facilities, incentives to be given to them

LAHORE

A delegation of Chinese investors met Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Sunday and expressed keen interest in investment in industrial sector in Punjab. 

The Chinese investors showed willingness to set up a state-of-the-art industrial zone in Punjab and said they wanted to develop a big industrial zone which would include establishment of various industries. 

Talking to the Chinese delegation, the chief minister said Pak-China relations had transformed into useful economic cooperation after China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He said CPEC had opened new chapters of Pak-China friendship, adding that China was investing 46 billion dollar in Pakistan under CPEC and Chinese investment would increase with the passage of time. 

The chief minister said there were vast opportunities of investment in Punjab. He said Punjab government had provided a conducive atmosphere to the promotion of investment. He said all possible facilities and incentives were being given to Chinese investors in connection with investment. 

He welcomed the decision of Chinese investors regarding setting up the industrial zone and said all possible facilities would be provided to the Chinese investors in this regard. 

Health Day: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in his message on World Mental Health Day has said brain is an important part of human body and its balance is necessary for healthy life. He said only physically and mentally healthy human beings could utilise their best abilities for the welfare of society. He said there was also a threat of mental ailment due to leading a life against the law of nature. “Therefore, we all should try to live in accordance with the nature”, he added. The chief minister said ignorance of mental diseases and negligence in their treatment resulted in increase and complication of diseases. He said the aim of observing World Mental Health Day was to create awareness among people about mental and psychological diseases. He said basic aim of this day was to create awareness about the importance of mental health and diseases. He said: “We have to pledge on this day that we will continue our coordinated efforts for the treatment and rehabilitation of persons suffering from mental diseases”.

GRIEVED: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the death of Begum Masooda Naqshbandi, a worker of Pakistan Movement and a close companion of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah. In a condolence message, the chief minister paid tributes to the services of the deceased in Pakistan Movement and said Begum Masooda Naqshbandi was an active member of the dynamic team of Madar-e-Millat. He said services of late Begum Masooda for Pakistan Movement will be remembered forever. He expressed sympathies and condolences with the bereaved family and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
