In order to solve power crisis in Pakistan, the people of the country ought to stand up for energy conservation and against power theft. It has been observed that whenever K-Electric installs power theft detection system or new cables in an area the residents of the area show resistance. The areas where the KE has successfully installed new cables and detection systems have seen significant decrease in power failure or scheduled loadshedding.
In view of the above-mentioned results, the KE’s steps should be applauded. Since the power utility and other DISCOs have increased their crackdown against electricity theft, maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel after all.
