BIEK announces humanities second year results

Female candidates clinched the top positions as the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Monday announced results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Part-II, annual examinations- 2016, for the Humanities (regular and private) group.

Results of the diploma in the physical education and special candidates were also announced. 

According to the gazette issued by the BIEK, as many as 11,111 candidates registered for the humanities (regular) examinations, of whom 10,940 students appeared and 4,347 candidates cleared all the papers. The overall pass percentage was 39.73 percent.

As per the result, five students clinched A-1 grade; 144 candidates bagged A-grade; 780 students got B-grade; 1,761 candidates got C-grade; 1,525 students passed their exams with D-grade, while 132 candidates managed to secure E-grade.

Of the total registered candidates, as many as 1,338 were male candidates, of whom 1, 301 students appeared for the examinations and 440 students could clear the exams. The pass percentage for boys stood at 33.82 percent.

None of them could manage to secure A-1 grade, while only two candidates received A-grade; 50 students cleared the papers with B-grade; 154 managed to get C-grade; 207 candidates secured D-grade, while 27 students obtained E-grade.

On the other hand, as many as 9,773 female students registered for the examinations of whom 9,639 candidates appeared for the papers, while the number of those who cleared the papers were 3,907 students. The pass percentage stood at 40.53 percent.

As many as five female candidates clinched A-1 grade; 142 students secured A-grade; 730 candidates cleared the papers with B-grade; 1,607 candidates got C-grade, while 1,318 students managed to secure D-grade; 105 candidates received E-grade.

According to the gazette, seven unfair means cases were reported during or after the annual exams.

 

Humanities private group

As per the gazette, as many as 10,214 candidates were registered for the humanities (private) examinations, out of whom 9,746 students appeared and 4,171 candidates cleared all the papers. The overall pass percentage stood at 42.80 percent.

Not a single student bagged A-1 grade; 58 candidates got A-grade; 569 students obtained B-grade; 1,733 students managed to clear papers with C-grade, while 1,668 students got D-grade, whereas 143 candidates got E-grade.

As per the gazette, as many as 3,930 male students registered for the examinations, of whom 3,670 candidates appeared while 1, 493 students cleared all papers. The overall pass percentage stood at 40.68 percent.

Only six candidates manage to get A grade, 141 students got B-grade, 566 students passed the exams with C-grade, 712 candidates got D-grade, while 68 students got E-grade.

On the other hand, as many as 6,284 female candidates registered for the papers, out of whom 6,076 students appeared for the papers while 2,678 managed to clear them. The overall pass percentage stood at 44.08 percent.

As many as 52 candidates bagged A-grade, 428 students and 1, 167 candidates passed exams with B and a C-grade respectively, 956 students got D-grade, whereas 75 candidates got an E-grade.

As per the gazette, 21 cases of using unfair means were reported during or after the annual exams.

Physical education

As many 29 students were registered for the examinations, while 28 candidates appeared and all of them cleared the diploma in physical education. The overall pass percentage stood at 100 percent.

As per the gazette, four candidates managed to clear papers with A-grade, 17 candidates got B-grade and seven students received C-grade.

 

Special candidates

In the special candidate category, 94 candidates were registered and all of them appeared. Only one candidate could not clear papers while the rest of the students were declared pass in all papers.

As many as 49 candidates clinched A-1 grade, 41 candidates bagged A-grade and three students received B-grade.

According to the gazette, 55 male candidates were registered and appeared in the exams and managed to clear all the paper. The pass percentage was 100 percent.

As many as 32 of them clinched A-1 grade, 22 students received A-grade, while one candidate passed the exam with B-grade.

On the other hand, 39 female students registered and appeared in the papers, of whom38 students were declared pass in all papers. The pass percentage was 97.44 percent.

Fahad, son of Jameel Ahmed, having roll number 790002, student of the Ida Rieu College for Deaf, clinched the first position with 992 marks out of total 1100 marks and 90.18 percent.

Saqib Ali Mallah, son of Karim Buksh Mallah, roll number 790083, student of the Aghosh Special Children Higher Secondary School, obtained the second position with 987 marks and 89.73 percent.

Hamza Abdul Rasheed, son of Abdul Rasheed, roll number 790035, student of the Dewa Higher Secondary School, received the third position with 985 marks and 89.55 percent.

The BIEK also awarded cash prizes of Rs1, 00, 000, Rs50,000 and Rs30, 000 respectively to top three positions along with Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan gold medals.

 

Position holders

The top three positions were bagged by the Iqra Huffaz Degree College in the humanities regular group, while the college also received fifth position in the humanities regular annual exams.

Hafiza Asna Siddiqui, daughter of Ghulam Hussain, having roll number 764861, clinched the first position at 85.91 percent after getting 945 marks out of 1100 marks.

The position holder expressed that she wanted to become a religious scholar in future.

Hafiza Haniya Waqas, daughter of Waqas Bin Yousuf, roll number 764862, bagged second position with 942 marks and 85.64 percent.

She observed that the real jihad was the one during which innocent people were not hurt at all.

“We should live our lives as per the teachings of the Holy Quran and preaching of the last Prophet Peace Be Upon Him.”

Hafiza Lubaba Mustaqeem, daughter of Mustaqeem Shah, roll number 764864, received the third position with 930 marks and 84.55 percent.

She advised students to pursue both the religious and modern educations.

In the humanities private group, Areeba Sohail, daughter of Sohail A Salam, having roll number 308028, secured the first position with 863 marks out of total 1100 marks and 78.45 percent.

Due to some personal reasons, she could not attend the ceremony organised in the honour of the position holders.

Maria Azam Khan, daughter of Muhammad Azam Khan, roll number 301254, bagged the second position with 833 marks and 75.73 percent.

She observed that male students wasted their time using internet and did not give education due priority.

Maryam, daughter of Rab Nawaz, roll number 302095, received the third position with 829 marks and 75.36 percent.

The position holder, whose father is a government officer, wants to take admission in the mass communication department.
