KP IGP’s son ties the knot

PESHAWAR: The wedding ceremony of Essa Khan Durrani, the younger son of Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani, was held at the Peshawar Garrison Club here on Saturday.

Essa Khan Durrani, a chartered accountant, tied the knot with Sana Jan, the daughter of Brigadier (R) Qazi Mohammad Jan, a batchmate of Nasir Khan Durrani at the Cadet College Hassan Abdal.

Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel, Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Chief Minister Pervez Khattak, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Hidayat ur Rehman, former chief ministers Aftab Sherpao and Akram Khan Durrani, cabinet members, politicians, former chief secretaries and inspectors general, regional and district police officers, bureaucrats and others attended the function.

All the invitation cards carried a separate piece of paper with request from Nasir Khan Durrani not to bring any kind of wedding gifts. “Your presence and prayers are the only gifts, which will make us happier,” stated the note. Another function in connection with the wedding of Essa Durrani will be held in Lahore.
