Keeping up with the spirit to take
action against encroachments on Gujjar Nullah, Deputy Mayor Dr Arshad Vohra has directed municipal authorities to speed up the ongoing operation and the construction of service road alongside drain.
Given that new dimensions are to be followed for the construction, Vohra, who visited the site with municipal team, mentioned that the width of Nullah would be increased to 60ft with a 15 ft wide road on both sides to ensure proper drainage.
Stressing on removal of encroachments, he stated that 19km of both sides of the drain has been cleared and the authorities would follow suit for the remaining occupied area.
He informed that similar measures for Manzoor Colony and Akhtar Colony were also underway.
