Low-intensity quake hits Nawabshah

NAWABSHAH: An earthquake of low intensity hit the city and its suburbs early Friday morning. No loss of life or property was reported from anywhere in the city and its suburbs, according to Deputy Commissioner Ghanwar Ali Leghari. The tremor was recorded at 4.9 at the Richter’s scale. The tremor was said to have hit Nawabshah, Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed, Saeedabad and Hala at 1.23am. It created panic among the people who came out of their houses. The walls of some houses in Sakrand town sustained some cracks. As a precautionary measure, emergency was declared at the People’s Medical University Hospital, but nobody turned up there with any emergency.
