PESHAWAR: The activists of Waziristan Youth Organisation (WYO) Friday staged demonstration here to demand reconstruction of educational institutions damaged during military operations in Fata.
Led by Mir WaliDawar, president Waziristan Youth Wing, Muhibullah, general secretary and Asadullah, the protesters gathered outside the Peshawar Press Club.They were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans in favour of their demands.
The protesters demanded the government to ensure provision of educational facilities to the repatriated tribal students.Talking to media persons on the occasion, Mir Wali said that the internally displaced tribal students were not being provided adequate educational facilities after return to the tribal region.
He demanded the federal government to declare an educational emergency in Waziristan to facilitate the students.The speakers also urged the government to initiate reconstruction and rehabilitation of destroyed educational institutions during military operation Zarb-e-Azb against militants in the area.
