KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that time is up for those people who used to rule Karachi from London as bad days of Karachi are about to end.

The PPP chairman stated this on Thursday during a visit to Malir. He addressed supporters of his party at road intersections of Malir 15, the National Highway, Quaidabad and surrounding areas.

Activists and supporters of the party warmly welcomed the PPP chairman as he reached Malir.

Bilawal Bhutto made activists of the party raise slogans against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He also urged the people to raise their voice in favour of PPP and its late leaders.

“You have to support the People's Party in the elections of 2018 to make it successful in order to inform Panama Sharif (referring to the prime minister) and chieftains of corruption that only Benazir will hold sway over the entire country.

The People's Party will come to power and end the problems of people,” said Bilawal Bhutto during his visit of the city. “We will do accountability of Panama Sharif in a democratic manner and we will take along with us all the political parties for development of the city.”

Urging activists of the PPP to get ready to take on the political opponents of the party, Bilawal Bhutto said, “Jiyalas you should get ready that it is time to push away chieftains of corruption and to chase away the crony of thieves.

“We will not be fearful of chieftains of corruption and Takht-e-Raiwind,” he said. “Thieves have to be made accountable as they have to account for every penny they have.

“We will do agitation against corruption on a full-fledged basis in a democratic manner. It is the responsibility of the rulers to resolve the issues of public. We will end extremism and terrorism in the country,” he said.

He said that the people of Malir had voted in support of a Jiyala of Bhutto to get him elected in the recently held by-elections on the constituency of PS-127 in Karachi. He said that similarly the PPP had emerged successful in elections for Karachi’s District Council and on seats in District Municipal Corporation in Malir. “Now a change is coming as the people of Karachi are looking towards the People's Party,” he added.

"You should support us in the elections of 2018. A caravan has set into motion as victory has to be secured in the 2018 elections,” he said while addressing the activists of his party.

“It is time to tell the chieftain of corruption that only Benazir would rule now,” he claimed. He also said that the PPP was the favourite party of the public and the party would emerge victorious in the 2018 general elections to give people food, shelter and cloth.

He claimed that the PPP would promote education among masses while terrorism and extremism would be eradicated from the entire country.

He said the PPP had rendered big sacrifices for the cause of strengthening democracy and the party would also protect democracy. “You people should start preparations for elections as our journey has been launched from today, which will continue till victory in the next elections,” said Bilawal.

He said that Malir was a fortress of Bhutto and Shaheed BB and the People's Party would also rule Karachi.

Stringent security measures were in place during Bilawal’s Malir visit but despite this the PPP chairman came out of his vehicle to mingle with people.
