PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Monday issued contempt of court notice to secretary Higher Education Department for non-compliance with the court’s verdict about preparing service structure for employees of the Frontier Education Foundation.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth and Justice Muhammad Ishtiaq Ibrahim issued the contempt of court notice to secretary Higher Education Department (HED), asking him to explain as to why the court’s order was ignored.
Fozia Noreen and other female teachers had filed the contempt petition through their lawyer Zartaj Anwar.During hearing, the lawyer submitted that the high court in its decision had issued directions to the provincial government and education department to prepare service structure for employees of the FEF within two months.
He submitted that several months had passed after the court’s decision, but no progress was made in this regard. Additional Advocate General Waqar Ahmad sought some time for submission of the provincial government’s reply in the case.
