VC Lahore varsity given additional charge

LAHORE: University of Education Lahore’s Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof Rauf-i-Azam has been assigned the additional charge of the post of VC University of Sahiwal. According to a notification issued by the Higher Education Department Punjab, the additional charge has been assigned following approval of the Governor/Chancellor. It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government had passed the University of Sahiwal Act 2015 on June 10, 2015 to convert the Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU) Sahiwal sub-campus into an autonomous chartered university, the University of Sahiwal. Sources said the development funds for the University of Sahiwal were yet to be released to complete the transition of the sub-campus into an independent university.
