Leaves Jinnah Hospital’s VIP ward in healthy condition soon after receiving release orders; severe pain in spinal cord goes away

KARACHI: All the diseases from which Shoaib Sheikh, the main accused in the Axact fake degrees case, was suffering from vanished when he suddenly left the VIP Ward, reserved for political patients of Jinnah Hospital, for his home after obtaining release orders following his bail.

Shoaib, who had been able to prove himself as a patient on the basis of innumerable medical checkups and reports, was absolutely healthy in 2015 when several cases surfaced against Axact.

He had also been able to visit the FIA offices and courts amid the ongoing inquiry but it was revealed out of the blue, immediately after the cancellation of his bail, that several diseases were afflicting him. For this reason, he was transported to the hospital emergency on many occasions, but had to return to jail or the investigation centre due to the absence of any serious illness. On February 2 this year, he was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital’s special ward after he complained of severe pain in his spinal cord. Initially kept in an ordinary room No10, VIP Room No5 was allotted to him thanks to good public relations skills while staying in this ‘political colony’.

His close relative Waqas Attique was also shifted to VIP Room No 7 on May 16 after showing him as a patient of multiple illnesses. But since then, no news appeared about the disease of these two patients or the steps taken to treat them.

It seems there was some magic wand that cured them of all the diseases soon after receiving the release orders. It didn’t stop there as they not only left the hospital beds and reached home properly dressed in excellent shape but also visited their offices soon after to perform duties and deliver a lengthy speech.

People are astonished that how these influential patients recovered suddenly soon after the release orders, and if they had recovered earlier, why they were not not transported back to the prison.

On the other hand, people suggest courts take notice of this alleged fabrication, if their illness was a drama. Not only this, citizens are also calling for action against those doctors and physicians who issue fake certificates of diseases to influential prisoners.

A journalist, who is close to Shoaib, said there was no truth in the allegation that Shoaib was healthy. He said Shoaib was really ill and was treated accordingly. He rejected the allegation of fabrication of false medical claim.
