‘50pc complaints of overseas Pakistanis redressed’
LAHORE
Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti has said the commission so far has received more than four thousand complaints from overseas Pakistanis out of which 50 per cent has been redressed.
Chairing a departmental meeting, he said the OPC is playing a positive and proactive role to address the issues faced by the Overseas Pakistanis and they could contact OPC for redressing their complaints against the government agencies of the Punjab.
The OPC commissioner disclosed that on the special instructions of chief minister, the OPC developed a modern IT-based system and through this system complaints are referred to the departments concerned to proceed further. He said the OPC monitored the process electronically.
Afzaal Bhatti said the District Overseas Committees are also playing an active role to settle the issues of Overseas Pakistanis. Overseas Pakistanis are real ambassadors of the country and the main purpose of the OPC is to provide them an effective platform for resolving their problems, the commissioner said.
