Militant arrested in Matta

MINGORA: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested an alleged militant in the Matta tehsil, sources said on Monday.The sources said the CTD arrested a militant Anwar Ali in Matta Bazaar. The accused was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

HANGU: The police defused two bombs in Kharsha Banda on Monday, official sources said.They said that unidentified persons had planted explosive devices outside the houses of Shahid and Surat Khan in Kharsha Banda.The villagers informed the cops, who defused the explosives.

MARDAN: Amn Jirga Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chairman Syed Kamal Shah on Monday condemned the suicide attack at the district courts in Mardan.“Neither the federal nor the provincial government announced any package for the slain and injured people,” he said while speaking at a meeting of the Amn Jirga.

Kamal Shah condemned the attack on the district courts in Mardan and the Christian Colony near the Warsak Dam. He added that militancy had intensified in the province while the party ruling the province was busy staging sit-ins in Punjab.
