Asma asks liberals to struggle for Kashmir freedom
ISLAMABAD: Renowned human rights activist Asma Jahangir on Friday appealed to the liberal circles of Pakistan to practically support the Kashmiris for their right to self-determination and ensure liberation of the occupied territory through a peaceful struggle.
Addressing a protest demonstration held outside the National Press Club, she said the Indian prime minister tried to divert attention from the Kashmir issue by acting like a fox and issuing a statement on Balochistan.
Referring to her recent visit to Srinagar, Asma said the Kashmiris were not more ready to remain part of India and wanted liberation from the Indian rule. She also asked the Indian liberals to extend support in the struggle for liberation of Kashmir. Senator Farhatullah Babar, Hamid Mir, Irshad Mehmood and Ejaz Haider also spoke on the occasion.
