Punjab University Centre for South Asian Studies in collaboration with American Institute of Pakistan Studies and Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) organised a seminar on “Force and Intervention and Humane Global Governance”.

According to a press release, American scholar Dr Richard Falk was the keynote speaker who speaking on the occasion gave the idea of global governance that was more ethical and humane. He said its main aspects were the future of international law; climatic change and nuclear weaponisation. He said the challenges in its way were to counter imperialism, injustice, global poverty, militancy and environmental disaster. However, he said, radical reforms were needed at institutional level to realise the dream of global governance.

Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Director CSAS Prof Dr Umbreen Javaid, Principal Law College Dr Shazia Naureen Qureshi, Resident Officer-I Prof Dr Sajid Rashid Ahmad, faculty members and MPhil/PhD scholars of Centre and Department of Political Science attended the seminar.
