Justice on leave

By our correspondents
August 29, 2016

The main problem confronting our poor masses is that it takes years and years for cases in court to reach a conclusion and at times the complainant passes away before the decision is announced. We are normally short of judges and courts to address pending cases. The system needs to be revamped as we cannot afford three-month long vacations for the higher courts or month-long ones for local courts.

We are fighting a difficult war on terror and we certainly require all the state organs to be working round the clock to sort out our issues. Yes when we are stable enough and our critical problems are solved we may be able to afford long leaves but certainly not in today’s circumstances.
