Dar reviews WB’s next Development Policy Credit

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Monday reviewed the targets for World Bank’s next Development Policy Credit (DPC).

A statement issued by the Ministry of Finance said that the credit would be available to Pakistan in the current financial year.Secretary Finance briefed the minister on the list of achievable objectives with the expected date for their completion.

Finance minister while reviewing the agenda for DPC commented that the targets were achievable as they were the home grown reform agenda.He further directed the officials of Finance Ministry to expedite the process of coordination among the different ministries to complete the reform agenda on time so as to avail the credit line made available on easy terms. – APP

INP adds: Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar has directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to hold discussion with the provinces on input tax adjustment so that the matter could be amicably resolved at the earliest.

Ishaq Dar expressed these views while talking to Punjab Finance Minister Ms. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha who along with her team called on him at the Finance Division on Monday and discussed with him financial matters related to the government of Punjab including input tax adjustment and net hydel profits.

Talking to the delegation Dar advised that the Finance Ministry of Punjab should take up the issue of net hydel profits with the Ministry of Water and Power and Wapda.He said that in case any facilitation was needed in this regard they might approach Ministry of Finance.
