Doom and gloom
By our correspondents
August 23, 2016
Decided to watch TV after a really hectic day and switched to news. From the media going berserk over children’s kidnappings all over the country and angry people beating the kidnapping suspects to their deaths, a woman crying and demanding justice from a senior police officer for her husband and brothers’ murders outside a court, to the badly damaged roads of Karachi, the 9pm news was nothing but gloom.
Where are we headed? How can our politicians still think everything is all right when young children are being swept off from right under our noses? How can our police just let go of murderers for the sake of a few bucks? I feel extremely depressed and I pity us, as a nation, to deserve such leaders as these.
