Lakki council passes budget

LAKKI MARWAT: District Nazim Ashfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel expressed concern over unjust distribution of financial resources and said that the annual budgets of Nowshera, Swabi and some other districts were more than the districts located in southern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was winding up discussion on developmental budget after the Lakki Marwat District Council unanimously passed budget for fiscal year 2016-17. The budget session was held in district council hall at the district headquarters complex Tajazai with convener (district naib nazim) Arab Khan in the chair.

Presenting the budget, District Nazim Ashfaq Ahmad Khan Meenakhel said that the total outlay of the uplift budget was Rs334 million wherein Rs68 million had been earmarked for education sector.

He said that Rs33 million had been allocated for health while Rs50 million would be spent on uplift schemes in agriculture, women development and youth affairs sectors. The councillors called for allocating funds for repairing dilapidated roads and water supply schemes in the district.
