ISLAMABAD/MUZAFFARABAD: The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC), Iyad bin Amin Madani, on Sunday expressed concern over the atrocities being committed by the Indian forces with impunity in Indian held Kashmir and called for an early resolution of the Kashmir dispute through peaceful negotiations.

He said the OIC will continue monitoring the human rights situation in held Kashmir.

Yaqoob expressed his gratitude to MadaniOIC’s consistent support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their struggle for self-determination. He apprised him about the recent situation in the Held Kashmir and highlighted the grave human rights violations being committed by the Indian occupation forces.

He stressed that the sham elections held by India could never be a replacement to the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. Meanwhile, political leaders, analysts and civil society representatives lauded UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon for offering to facilitate talks between Pakistan and India find a settlement of the Kashmir issue.

And in Muzaffarabad, a big anti-India and pro-freedom motorcycle rally under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL) was held, which called upon the United Nations to save Kashmiris from Indian army’s onslaught and planned bloodshed in occupied Kashmir.

The participants of the rally also urged the UN to force New Delhi to allow the Red Cross and Human Rights Council access to Occupied Kashmir. The peaceful protesters on hundreds of motorbikes and many on foot marched along River Neelum from Neelum Chowk to the Press Club.

The speakers said that the IHK was heading towards a human catastrophe due to India’s savage war against the Kashmiris. They said the UN and OIC should take robust action against India’s inhuman measures just like they did against the Serb army in early 1990s to save the Bosnians from further genocide.
