21,000 answer scripts confiscated as ACE raids BIEK office
Karachi
In a raid on the offices of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) on Tuesday, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) took away around 21,000 answer scripts.
ACE West Deputy Director Fawad Soomro along with a team comprising around two dozen officials visited the BIEK office and searched through the deputy examinations controller’s room among other places.
“As many as 21,000 answer booklets have been confiscated. We have been informed that BIEK would be announcing the results on August 12 and the confiscated copies were given ‘coloured marks’ as some culprits had received bribes to do so,” an ACE official stated on condition of anonymity.
According to an ACE official, the raid had been conducted following the directives of the Chief Minister Inspection team and employees present at the office were also questioned.
However the raid will not delay the results and the team would try its level best to carry out an impartial grading. Despite many attempts, BIEK Chairman Muhammad Ghori was unreachable for a comment.
