Block Islamabad Expressway; chant slogans against India

ISLAMABAD: Thousands of people thronged the streets across the country on Wednesday to protest against the visit of Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh, holding rallies, raising anti-India slogans and setting ablaze effigies of Prime Minister Modi and Indian flags to condemn the Indian Army’s atrocities in occupied Kashmir.

In Islamabad, leaders and activists belonging to the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, the United Jehad Council and other organisations chanted slogans against India for the recent acts of barbarism and human rights violations in Indian-held Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion, APHC and UJC leaders, including Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mir Tahir Masood and Syed Salahuddin, castigated India for not only denying  the Kashmiris their right to self-determination but also carrying out their mass killings and rendering scores of Kashmiri boys and girls maimed.

They made it clear there was no other way to resolve the Kashmir issue but to paving the way for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination. and disgracing of females in the Occupied Kashmir could never dampen their cause of freedom from Indian clutches.

Kashmiri leaders urge the international community and the world human rights organisations to take notice of Indian forces barbarism and aggression on Kashmiris and exert pressure on India to withdraw the occupation forces from the Valley.  They lamented that use of pellets had rendered hundreds of Kashmiri boys and girls blind.

Mishal Malik, the spouse of leading APHC leader Yasin Malik, has set up a hunger strike camp outside the National Press Club to protest the arrival of Indian minister and also the latest wave of state terrorism by Indians in the Held Kashmir. Several other females and children were also seen sitting along with her.

In Lahore, the main rally was held on the Mall road outside Masjid-i-Shuhada and participated by a large number of students, lawyers, traders, civil society and people from walks of life. The protesters were holding placards and banners bearing inscriptions against India and in support of Kashmiris and raising slogans against Pakistani rulers for receiving the representative of a killer government, carrying out genocide of Kashmiri Muslims. They warned that welcoming Rajnath Singh amounted to rubbing salt on the injuries of Kashmiri Muslims and disregarding their blood.

Addressing the charged protesters, Jamaatud Daawa (JD) Ameer Hafiz Saeed said Islamabad should have emulated the Kashmiri leaders from occupied valley who had refused to meet Rajnath Singh when he visited the Indian Occupied Kashmir recently. He appealed to the world to send a caravan for Kashmiris carrying essential food and medicine supplies like on the pattern of Freedom Flotilla for Palestinians, since Kashmiris today are facing severe shortage of food and medicines because of complete blockade of the valley for the last four weeks.

He reminded Islamabad that Rajnath had offered huge attractive package to Kashmiris but they refused it with the reply that they were not ready to receive aid from killers. He demanded that government open routes for Kashmiris’ help. Trucks containing dry ration and other items for occupied Kashmir had been detained at Chakothi for three days but disallowed to enter Indian occupied Kashmir. Pakistanis were heart and soul with their Kashmiri brothers.

Hafiz Saeed said India and America were unanimous in support of Indian stance of its occupation and atrocities on unarmed Kashmiris. He said the US is backing India for atrocities on Kashmiris. He recalled that Quaid-i-Azam termed Kashmir jugular vein of Pakistan. The nation will support the rulers unconditionally if they deal Kashmir issue boldly,” he said.

Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki said Kashmiris were chanting slogans in favour of Pakistan and Government of Pakistan should help them and expose terrorism of India. Secretary General Jamiat Ahlehadith Allama Ibtisam Elahi Zaheer said Indian home minister’s visit amounted to rubbing salt on the injuries of oppressed Kashmiris.

Tehreek Hurmat-i-Rasool (SAW) Convener Ameer Hamza said Israel is helping India to crush freedom movement of Kashmiris. Ameer Jamaat Ahlehadith Hafiz Abdul Ghaffar Ropari said Rajnath was representative of the killers of tens of thousands of Kashmiris, and hence should be treated like that. Muthidda Jamiat Ahlehadith Ameer Ziaullah Bukhari said the nation should be united against Indian terror.
