Two people, including an alleged robber, were killed in separate incidents in the city on Saturday.

Syed Satkar Shah, 45, was standing outside this house near Star Ground in Sherpao Colony, Quaidabad, in the afternoon when two men riding a motorcycle arrived there and one of them fired shots at him before the two escaped from scene.

The injured was rushed to the JPMC, where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim suffered bullet wounds to his chest.

Shah had recently married a divorced woman and settled in Karachi after coming from Mansehra, Khyber Pakhtun-khwa, said Station House Officer Mohammad Ali Marwat of Quaidabad Police Station.

According the police officer, preliminary investigations show Shah was murdered by Laal Shah, former husband of the woman.   Police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the suspect.  In a separate incident, Ashraf Khan was shot dead near Indus Plaza in Sohrab Goth in a morning attack.

SHO Aziz Ahmed of Sohrab Goth Police Station said that after shooting, police arrived at the scene and found man dead.

After completing legal formalities, the police took the body to the JPMC for a postmortem examination.

The man was identified as Ashraf Khan, a resident of Chhota Plaza, Al-Asif Square. He was said to be a habitual criminal and had earlier been arrested but obtained bail in a criminal offence case.  Police suspected he had a dispute with his associates over looted items, and they shot and killed him during an argument.
