On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, the Anti-dengue Day was observed with great fervour across Punjab. In this connection, awareness walks were arranged by different health department representatives and pamphlets highlighting important steps to control the spread of disease were distributed among pedestrians. All this is a welcome step on the part of the government but we need to understand that efforts by the community are also needed to control dengue.
Since dengue has become a health and social problem, community participation in anti-dengue measures is inevitable. It is hoped that the government will remain sincere in its efforts to curb the spread of the dengue virus.
