Two shot dead by robbers; one suspect lynched

A man was gunned down by two robbers in Bilal Colony on Sunday when he resisted them after which passers-by got hold of one of the robbers and brutally beat him up.

Police said two robbers riding a motorcycle intercepted Amjad Ali, 25, near Dua Hotel situated in North Karachi.

The robbers told him hand over his cash and other valuables. When he resisted, one of the robbers opened fire on him.

Residents and passers-by after hearing the gunshots rushed out and managed to apprehend one the robbers.

An enraged mob beat up the robber and he died while police were taking him to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital 

The police said Amjad lived in Korangi and had arrived in the area to attend a birthday party. In another mugging incident, a 26-year-old man was shot and killed by robbers in the Mominabad police limits. 

The victim, Abdul Rehman, 26, was reportedly intercepted by the robbers near Ghousia Chowk in Orangi Town No 10.

According to police, the victim resisted the robbers' demand to hand over his cash and valuables, upon which they fired at him from close range and made away with his valuables. Rehman was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in critical condition but breathed his last during treatment. 

The victim was resident of the area, police said, adding that a hunt was on to track down and arrest the killers.

Anees, 25, died after an inter-city passenger bus rammed into his motorcycle near Bahria City on the Super Highway within the Gadap City police jurisdiction.
