PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Saturday decided to establish a Trade Information Office at Economic Zones Development and Management Company here to facilitate overseas investors.
The decision was taken at a follow-up meeting with seven-member delegation of the Pakistani community in the United States held here at the Chief Minister’s House. The team is in the province to look for investment opportunities.
Parliamentary Secretary Dr Haider Ali chaired the meeting on behalf of chief minister. The participants discussed priority areas, modalities and mechanism for investment in health, tourism and energy sector.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mohammad Israr Khan, administrative secretaries for the departments, chief executive officer EZDMC, chairman of the EZDMC and other relevant officials were also present.
Investment opportunities and potential in the province, particularly in health, tourism and energy sectors were discussed in details.
The delegation showed interest in investment and assured that they would also convince and motivate other investors to turn to the province. Dr Haider Ali highlighted the salient features of the provincial industrial policy and commitments of the government to promote investment in the province. He said identified sectors were the part of reform policy of PTI while provincial government wanted to provide an ideal environment to the investors.
