Man strangled by wife, brother-in-laws

LAHORE

A 35-year-old man was strangled by his wife and two brother-in-laws over a domestic spat in the Ravi Road police jurisdiction on Thursday. 

Police registered FIR 455/16 against victim’s wife, Rubina, and her brothers Waqas and Waqar. Police took immediate action and arrested the accused after learning of the incident. The victim was identified as Shehzad of Bhatto Colony Shahdara.

Meanwhile, two persons lost their lives in a collision between a bike and a Mazda van in Manga Mandi area.

wardens: At least 10 traffic inspectors, 20 patrolling officers and 40 wardens have been deployed to regulate unusual traffic on city roads due to admissions to educational institutions and entrance tests. 

The CTO requested the parents to avoid wrong parking so that students could not face any problem and reach the examination/test centres comfortably.

reinstated: CTO Thursday reinstated six suspended traffic wardens who had been suspended during the last few days.  The reinstated wardens were identified as Shahbaz, Tariq, Zahid Mohsin, Haroon and Nadim.

Four held: Four accused persons named in an FIR registered on the complaint of a policeman in Chuhng Police Station were arrested on charges of terrorism and intent to murder on Thursday.

Police had registered the FIR naming the four accused persons and 10 other unidentified persons after a passerby was killed and seven people injured, including Chuhng SHO Nasir Chattha.

TRANSFERRED: Inspector General of Police Punjab Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera issued orders swapping the postings of three DSPs on Thursday.

According to a handout, SDPO Noorpur Thal, Khushab, SP organised crime Khushab, and SDPO Musakhel, Mianwali have had their posts changed to DSP HQ, Bhakkar, SDPO Musakhel, Mianwali and DSP organised crime, Khushab respectively.
