Additional District and Sessions Judge Sarfraz Akhtar on Thursday sought reply from Pakistan Railways’ police by August 12 on an application filed by Royal Palm Golf and Country Club’s management seeking registration of an FIR against Railways’ Minister Khawaja Sa'ad Rafiq.
The club management through their counsel filed application under Section 22 A and 22 B of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) seeking registration of a case against Sa'ad Rafiq. The petitioner said a civil court, on their application had ordered Railways’ authorities not to alienate the petitioner company from the club.
The petitioner said; however, the railways police raided at the club and forced them to leave the premises of the club. The railways authorities caused them a huge loss and did not bother to comply with the court orders, petitioner added. He said they had been running the club since 2001 under a valid lease and operation agreement known as the Implementation Agreement July 26, 2001, which was executed between Royal Palm and Pakistan Railways and the unilateral action of railways was in violation of the terms and conditions of this agreement and the law.
