Toshakhana-II case hearing adjourned without proceedings
ISLAMABAD: The hearing of the Toshakhana-II case against the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi, pending before Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand, was adjourned without proceedings on Thursday.
The hearing, originally expected to take place at Adiala Jail, was instead held at the Judicial Complex. Advocate Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry appeared on behalf of the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.
The court adjourned the hearing without any proceedings until July 24. In a separate case, Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Tahir Abbas Supra extended the physical remand of 11 PTI workers by four days. These individuals were arrested in connection with the PTI Sangjani Jalsa case.
The federal police presented the 11 accused before the court after completing their initial three-day physical remand. Advocates Ali Bukhari, Sardar Muhammad, Shubhishek Khan, and others represented the accused. During the proceedings, the prosecution informed the court that more names had been disclosed by the arrested individuals, necessitating further investigation and, therefore, an extension of their remand.
The defence, however, argued that the accused have already been in jail for 10 months, and citing rulings of the higher judiciary, claimed that no further remand could be legally granted.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved its decision, later granting a four-day extension in physical remand. The case against the PTI workers was registered at the Sangjani Police Station.
