The Director Higher Education Punjab has sought explanation from the director colleges of nine divisions of the province over growing complaints regarding provision of online prospectus that according to the students are available only in inpage format instead of PDF and also not carrying important information about subjects’ combination.

A written directive, sent to the director colleges of nine divisions, asked them to give reasons why details about subjects’ combination in various disciplines are not clearly mentioned in the prospectus.

The directives by the education department were issued when a large number of students and their parents as well raised the issue on the social media about provision of the faulty online college prospectus.

More than 250 colleges have been associated with Online College Admission System (OCAS) and there is no limit for students about applying in different colleges simultaneously. The students can see online merit lists and reports and analysis based on admission applications.

The students can also track the applications status through college portal. It is integrated with boards and intermediate and secondary education results and helps students avoid long queues.

Mohsin Naqvi, a student, said he and his friends tried hard to open online prospectus but the website of the relevant college was not responding properly, adding "When we succeeded to open the online prospectus then we came to know that it is not in the PDF format."

He said the computer font used in the online prospectus is also not common so it cannot be opened in most of the computers.
