Teachers’ protest from 25th
LAHORE
The All Asataza Alliance Punjab (AAAP) has announced the start of its protest against the Punjab government for "privatising" public schools from July 25.
The teachers’ alliance had observed a three day sit-in outside the Punjab Assembly before the holy month of Ramazan and had postponed the campaign till Eid. In a press release issued on Monday AAAP president Ramzan Inqilabi said some teachers were sabotaging the teachers’ movement by holding meetings with School Education Department officials despite the fact the department could not stop the privatisation of schools since it was a policy matter. He said only Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif could revert the move and teachers under AAAP would not end their protest unless the CM takes notice and stops the privatisation of public schools and addresses their concerns vis-à-vis upgradation of teachers.
