PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Monday accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government of fostering uncertainty through unconstitutional and irresponsible behaviour in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Speaking to various party delegations at the QWP Secretariat, Watan Kor, in Peshawar, Sikandar Sherpao said that public anxiety and confusion had intensified in the wake of the recent provincial budget approval process, which he alleged was manipulated through political blackmail by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

He termed the budget’s approval based on the endorsement of a single individual as “unconstitutional” and an “insult to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”According to him, the provincial government was using the budget as a political bargaining tool, putting the future of the province at stake.

Sikandar Sherpao noted that the government changed its stance and hastily indicated its intention to pass the budget once it realized its political maneuvering had failed and its grip on power was weakening.

He reiterated that the PTI’s priorities were not aligned with the needs or interests of the province, but rather focused on protests and pressure tactics to seek the release of their party founder.

The QWP leader criticized the PTI’s style of governance, stating it had caused “irreparable damage” to the province and its people. “Due to PTI’s poor governance, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are being deprived of their rights,” he said.

Sikandar Sherpao added that corruption, nepotism, and financial mismanagement had become rampant under the incumbent PTI government. “The province has turned into a hub of corruption, with new scandals surfacing almost daily which is a clear reflection of bad governance,” he added.
