26,489 licences issued in 24 hours

LAHORE:Around 26,489 individuals were issued driving licences across Punjab within the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, traffic authorities intensified enforcement, issuing 40,593 challans for various traffic violations. These resulted in fines Rs24 million. As part of the ongoing crackdown on environmental pollution, tickets were also issued to 600 smoke-emitting vehicles, with 91 of them were impounded at police stations for failing to meet emission standards.
Meanwhile, Tahaffuz Marakaz across Punjab provided assistance to 33,893 individuals during the current year, according to official data. Of those assisted, 16,483 were women, 12,622 were children, and 4,788 were transgender persons.
