ISLAMABAD: Pakistan defeated Indonesia 3-1 to earn a place in the semi-finals of the Nations Cup Volleyball following the quarter-finals at Manama (Bahrain) Saturday.
Pakistan lost the opening set 20-25, before recovering well to take the next three 25-21, 25-20, 25-17. Pakistan captain Murad Jehan led from the front and delivered an all-around performance, dominating both in attack and defense.
Usman Faryad Ali controlled the net with powerful blocks and crucial spikes. Fahad Raza showed exceptional coordination and playmaking abilities, contributing significantly to the team’s momentum.
Their outstanding performances were pivotal in turning the game in Pakistan's favor after dropping the opening set. With this victory, Pakistan has officially qualified for the semi-finals. Pakistan will take on a strong Qatar side in the semi-finals. Qatar defeated Vietnam in a five-game thriller in the third quarter-finals.
