Heated up

Pakistan is going through a severe heatwave, with high temperatures arriving weeks ahead of the usual summer season. This is a serious threat to public health, agriculture and overall public well-being. The region is already dealing with disrupted irrigation plans and water shortages.

The combination of threats like heat-stress, water scarcity and failing crops are putting Pakistan in danger of experiencing a severe climate emergency. I humbly suggest that the government and relevant authorities implement heat-action plans in urban areas, temporary shifts in irrigation timings and emergency water conservation protocols.
