Murad urges public to follow noble path laid down by Sufi saints
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday described Sufi saint Abdullah Shah Ghazi as a shining beacon of spirituality. He stressed that Sufi saints’ teachings promote humanity, brotherhood and service to others.
Talking to the media after visiting Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine to participate in the closing rituals of the Sufi saint’s three-day Urs celebrations, Shah said: “The shrine offers every visitor respect, peace and blessings. The message of love and tolerance from the Sufi tradition continues to serve as a guiding light for society today.”
Earlier, he offered prayers, laid a ceremonial cloth (chador) and distributed clothes among the needy. The Sindh government ensured comprehensive arrangements for visitors’ comfort and convenience.
Auqaf Minister Riaz Hussain Shah Sheerazi briefed the CM on the management of and facilities provided during the event. Shah also appreciated the efforts made to preserve and promote the spiritual heritage of Sindh’s shrines.
He prayed for the nation’s security, progress and prosperity, and urged the public to follow the noble path laid down by Sufi saints. He also highlighted the importance of unity and tolerance in today’s world, reflecting the enduring legacy of Abdullah Shah Ghazi and other spiritual luminaries of Sindh.
Abdullah Shah Ghazi is a revered figure known for his bravery and dedication to Islam. He is also a descendant of Imam Hassan (RA). The event attracted thousands of devotees from across the region, marking a significant spiritual occasion in Sindh’s cultural calendar.
Responding to a question, the CM said: “The opposition’s job is to criticise, but I never take it personally. However, criticism should not be an excuse for rudeness or disrespectful behaviour. We must always maintain mutual respect.”
He said the opposition should also care about Sindh’s Sufis, as they represent our culture and traditions. “Their teachings promote brotherhood and love among us.” Replying to a query about India’s aggression, he said: “India launched an unprovoked attack on Pakistan, but within a few days India realised the consequences. When the entire nation stands behind their armed forces, oppressors inevitably face their fate. When everyone plays their part, success is certain. This spirit has guided us in protecting our country.”
He also said Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari presented Pakistan’s stance effectively before the international media, following which the government sent him to lead a diplomatic delegation. “Due to his diplomacy, the world’s perspective on Pakistan has changed, which is a matter of great pride for us.”
Talking about the meeting between Field Marshal Asim Munir and Donald Trump, the CM said that it has also yielded positive results, strengthening Pakistan’s foreign policy. He announced that Bilawal would arrive in Karachi, and would be accorded a grand welcome. “I urge all Pakistanis who love their country to come to the airport and greet him. Because of him the world’s viewpoint about Pakistan has truly transformed, and we’re proud of him.”
