Baker gunned down in broad daylight

LAHORE:A local baker was gunned down in broad daylight when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on a tandoor on Sher Shah Road in the Shadbagh area on Thursday.

The victim, identified as Aziz Shah, was working at his shop when two unknown assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire and fled the scene. Shah died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds. According to initial police findings, the attack appears to be linked to an old enmity.

Car crash leaves two injured

A high-speed car crash in Gulberg left two people injured after the vehicle slammed into a roadside pole and split into two due to the impact. According to police, the car was reportedly moving in a zigzag manner at high speed before the driver lost control. The vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a pole with such force that it was completely destroyed and torn into two pieces.

Man arrested for making rape attempt

Manga Mandi police arrested a man for attempting to rape a 5-year-old girl. The accused was identified as Asad. A case has been registered against the accused Asad and handed him over to the Gender Cell.

Suspect killed in ‘encounter’

An alleged police encounter led by the Crime Control Department (CCD) in the Gujjarpura area resulted in the death of an unidentified suspect, while his accomplice managed to escape. A police picket roadblock had been set up in Gujjarpura to apprehend proclaimed offenders. Two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle were signaled to stop but instead opened fire on the police.

Man electrocuted

A 73-year-old man lost his life after being electrocuted while taking a bath in the bathroom of a shoe factory located in the Timber Market area of Ravi Road, on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Khaliq, son of Isa, and a resident of Rahim Yar Khan. He died on the spot due to the electric shock. Meanwhile, Batapur Investigation police have arrested the main accused involved in the murder of a woman and her daughter. The accused had allegedly shot and killed Nabila Bibi and her daughter over a domestic dispute.
