PPP to celebrate Benazir’s 72nd birth anniversary on 21st
LAHORE:President of Pakistan People's Party (PPP), South Punjab and former governor of Punjab, Makhdoom Syed Ahmad Mahmood, has directed all party organisations across South Punjab, including allied wings, to celebrate the 72nd birth anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on June 21 with traditional zeal, devotion, and political commitment. In a statement issued here Wednesday, Makhdoom Ahmad emphasised that Benazir Bhutto was not just a political leader, but a towering figure in Pakistan’s political history who lit the torch of democracy under the shadow of dictatorship, gave voice to women, awareness to the youth, and envisioned empowerment for the marginalised segments of society.
Makhdoom Ahmad said that the celebrations should include cake-cutting ceremonies, Quran recitation, prayers, and tributes highlighting her national services, democratic struggle, and martyrdom.
