As Pakistan continues to face economic challenges, the importance of taxation in securing our fiscal future cannot be emphasised enough. Effective tax policies can promote economic growth, reduce inequality and ensure that the fiscal burden is distributed evenly among citizens. However, our tax system’s intricacies frequently result in confusion and noncompliance.
I believe simplifying tax arrangements, improving taxpayer services and increasing the tax base have the potential to considerably increase revenue collection. Transparency and accountability in tax income utilisation are also critical for establishing public trust.
