Balochistan, the largest province of Pakistan, suffers from alarming socio-economic challenges. Unfortunately, this resource-rich province has fallen victim to crime and corruption. Rather than serving the people, many leaders now seem focused on personal gain. Looting and corruption have become normalised and the people receive little-to-no protection or basic civic facilities. Many students are losing faith in education, believing that academic achievement holds no value in a system where power is bought, not earned.
Once, leaders sacrificed everything for the sake of the nation. Today, the reverse is true. It is time to rethink our values and hold accountable those who abuse power. Only then can Balochistan move toward peace, justice and progress.
