LAHR gets Rs635m

LAHORE:Punjab CM has approved a hefty amount of over Rs635 million for Lahore Authority for Heritage Revival (LAHR) recently established under the patronage of PMLN President Nawaz Sharif.

In the budget 2025-26, the government allocated Rs200 million under the ongoing project of infrastructure improvement and facade rehabilitation of spice market from Dehli Gate to Akbari Gate, Walled City, Lahore. The total cost of this project is Rs999.610 million. Rs435 million were allocated for 13 new projects whereas the total estimated cost of these projects was Rs6.277 billion. The new projects included preservation and restoration of Shahdara Complex of Monuments, Shahdara Lahore Phase-II, conservation of additional substituted works of Lahore Fort, Lahore, conservation & reconstruction of old fortified wall and improvement inside Walled City Lahore, preservation and restoration of Shalimar Garden Lahore, restoration of historic zones of Lahore (New Anarkali and Old Anarkali Facades, Jain Mandir, Pan Gali, Bakhshi Market, Bible Society and etc), provision of underground parking facility adjacent to Tolinton Market, Mall Road, uplifting of Neela Gumbad Area along with provision of underground parking facility, restoration of historic zones of Lahore (Nila Gumbad, King Edward, Pak Tea House, Ewing Hall), improvement of adjacent areas, Nasir Bagh, Punjab University, and GCU Mall Road, reconstruction of four old gates i.e. Yakki Gate, Shah Alam Gate, Taxali Gate and Mochi Gate of Walled City Lahore.
