MIRANSHAH: Four persons were killed and one injured when two rival groups traded fire in the Mohammadkhel area of Dattakhel tehsil of North Waziristan, officials said on Friday.
District Police Officer (DPO) Waqar Ahmad said the shooting occurred due to an old enmity between the groups. One group, he said, launched an attack on the other, leading to a fierce exchange of fire. As a result, four persons were killed on the spot while another sustained serious injuries. The deceased and the injured were immediately shifted to the hospital.“The two groups had a history of animosity. Initial investigations suggest the incident was premeditated,” said DPO Waqar Ahmad.
