Vehicle emissions testing deadline extended
LAHORE: The Environment Protection Agency (EPA) Friday extended the vehicle emissions testing deadline. Keeping in mind the convenience of the public, the Punjab government has taken the decision. The EPA has extended the deadline to June 30. According to the official sources, the number of vehicles at the testing booths is increasing daily.
The date has been extended for the convenience of citizens, they said. Lahore is implementing a new vehicle emission testing programme with booths at 20 locations. These booths are operational at key points, including Emporium Mall, Liberty Market, and Model Town Park.
New cars and light transport vehicles under three years old are exempted from mandatory testing, but older vehicles are encouraged to get their emissions tested. Vehicles without green stickers will be banned on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway.
